Hey yall I have a few questions about the e303 302 cam from summit. If I do end up getting this, What supporting mods should I get along with it? what power increase should I inspect? and should I advance timing or anything with the cam? I have my 83 F100 with a stock carb 302 and aod.
And if it doesn’t work, what cam should I look at?
Summit Racing had great customer service. Did you talk with someone there ?
Have you talked with the auto motive machine shop to see what they have had good luck with ? Here's an old family friend's shop that did are race engines.

Get ready, Summit is going to ask you what your rear gear ratio is. And you said you have a stock transmission. They are probably going to tell you that cam is too radical for your setup. You should go with a milder cam setup.
My boss at work is in the same situation now with a LS1 swap. He used a carb on it and has a very radical camshaft in it. It runs great wide open, but it won't idle hardly at all. We had to use a highly modified carb on it and it mostly works now. But he is still having to fight it some, I keep telling him take that camshaft out and put something milder in it, and everything will suddenly smooth out and work.
