Remote start no interior power

Kind of a weird issue, but when I remote start my truck, none of the interior power is active until after I press the start/stop button. This also means the blower, air conditioning, heat and defrost don’t work either until I press the button. This sort of defeats the purpose of having heated seats and the extra cab heater. Anyone else experienced this?

Edit - Yes, I have the settings to auto so it does know I want the heat or cooled seats active after I press the button to wake it up.

Saw there was an older issue with the 2022 (SSM 51741) but should have been fixed already on mine. It’s a 2024 with latest firmware as of a couple weeks ago with FDRS.

My pickup does the same thing, where did you turn the setting to auto so that in theory the heat and whatnot is supposed to kick on when the truck is remote started?

it’s in the Remote Start > Climate Control menu. You can choose the seat and steering wheel behavior as auto or last used.

Mine just stopped working. I think this latest update killed the auto start climate control. I just got another update on Saturday (10.1.1) and of course my keyless entry stopped working for part of the day too. Come on FORD!!!

Reviving this because obviously there's a problem. It's getting colder here now ... in the 20's. When I remote start, the steering wheel heats but the seats, blower and defrost seem to be dead until I hit the start button. It's completely pointless to use remote start if the cabin is still cold and windows frozen when I get in. For those that live in cold climates, do you use remote start and what is the behavior on your 2023+ Super Duty? As much detail as possible please like year, trim, engine, has the software been updated, do you use ForScan and what changes have been made. Trying to figure out if this is a me problem or a more widespread issue.

23 Lariat 6.7 only heated steering wheel was working this morning on my remote start. Temp outside was 46. I have used Forscan to change tire pressure and charge turn signals flashes to 5.

I haven't had this issue yet - I've processed the updates and remote started this morning - blowers / HVAC / defrost all seem to be working fine, as intended. Now I don't have a heated steering wheel or seats, but the climate controls seem to be working fine. It was 34 degrees in Dallas area, even cooler yesterday. I'll pay closer attention to see what works and if anything doesn't.

Here's the way my '24 Lariat works whether starting with the app or the fob... (NOTE: I have mine set for last used positions)
Both heated seats come on and get warm.
Heated steering wheel comes on and get warm.
Rear defrost/heated mirrors come on and get warm.
Temperature, blower and air outlet positions come on to last set positions. (and verified once the start button is pushed, see below)

NOTHING on the dash or climate controls illuminate until I push the start button then everything above illuminates and verifies as being on.

Did you have the defrost and seats on when you shut the vehicle down? Trying to understand if the "last used" behavior is just for the temp setting.

No, the rear defrost, heated wheel and heated seats "typically" are not on when I shut the truck off but do come on during a remote start.
What I can't say with certainty is whether the heated seats come on full blast during a remote start (if I had left them on) because once the start button is pushed, the control does at that point show the "last used" position. (again remember, the dash/controls are blank/dark until the start button is pushed)
I rarely use my heated seats on 3 bars. Sometimes 2 but mostly 1. The seats are warm though when I get in but I don't know if they are 3 bars warm?
I also rarely let the truck run more than about 5 minutes after remote starting before getting in so maybe if left for 15 minutes they'd be warmer?

Thanks for the clarification. My wheel is warm to the touch but seats are cold. When I get in and push start, lights come on and show 3 bars and then you can start feeling heat shortly after. Not impressed with what I’m seeing from Ford so far. I like some of the newer tech like the HUD and improved Sync but it’s far more unreliable basic functions than my 2016.

When I remote start my truck, nothing turns on inside my truck until I put the key in and turn it. This is the only vehicle I've had that didn't turn the heat and defrost on when remote started.

Maybe I was doing something wrong....which is extremely possible!

I just ran to the store. While I was putting boots on, I remote started it. When I got in the truck the heat was blowing and the defrost was on. That works for me.

We have a 2024 F-350 Lariat 6.7 and now that it is cold we discovered that we can start the truck with either the fob or app remotely and no matter what we do the heat for the seats, steering wheel and and HVAC system remain off until we get inside and hit the start button. We have made no changes with anything.
We have verified that if remote start is disabled in settings that remote start does not work (that is as expected)
If remote start is on and then verify that the items seat and steering wheel are on auto we do a remote start these don't have these turn on until we get inside the truck and press the start button(this is. now what is expected).
Ambient outside temp between 11 and 25 degrees (F).
Looks to me like some software issue.
Has anyone taken this to the dealer - if so what do they say?
