Are the headlight bulbs in the 56 F100, the same size as those in the 53-55? Obviously, the voltage is 12v as opposed to 6v and possibly the wiring connector is different. I converting my 55 to 12v and I would like to use those 56 bulbs, if they will fit.
somewhat related question about headlights; do you know when and how alignment tips came into effect?
56 and 57 did not have alignment tips
they then went industry wide to 4 lamp system in 58. Then around 61 back to 2 lamp at least in fords. So my guess is 1961
I can't say for certain when the glass nubs entered the scene, but I know that they are found on many sealed beam type bulbs and used in conjunction with alignment apparatuses that would physically register with them and the allow for aim adjustment with reference to bubble levels on the apparatus.
