ECM Repair facilities

There are no current threads I could find for a new ECM shop. After playing for months I finally got a chance to use an Ocilliscope. So nice even if it was an entry level scope. I have a solid clean signal from the Cam Position Sensor. I can swap right and left. Wires ohm out good. signal is the same at the sensor and at the ecm terminal. Shop pulled ECM and opened it. Two burn spots on board.

What is a good shop to go with little down time?
SIA Electronics at P.O. Box 392 730 North Minnie St. Tilden, IL 62292 was recommended, but I cannot find anyone that has used them. https://siaelec.com/

Check out WranglerFix.com. Talk to Mark. Tell him Mac sent you.

He saved my buddy's 96 F250 Diesel. Had a new ECM out to him the next day for a quarter of what a shop had quoted.

SIA has a decent rep. My cousin used them, but on the Dodge side, but the turnaround was 2+wks.

I moved back to a Ford Gasser in Oct after being on the Cummins side for a bit. I chased ECM and Harness issues for too long on my 2007.5 MegaCab 6.7 and used ACS https://autocomputerspecialist.com/ out of FL. They seemed to know what they were doing. But the lag time of mailing back and forth, wiring (possibly rodent) issues, etc I needed a running truck. Took a loss and traded inop to a local dealer for a 2016 F250 Lariat. I know the 6.2L wont have the Cummins Torque but it should pull my gooseneck well enough. My OBS F250 w/7.3PSD did well enough.

I checked with them and they are specific to the Jeep World. Good work and good reviews, just nothing outside of Jeeps.

I lived in the 7.3 and 6.0 world a long long time. At 62 I cannot get to those back bolts and harness clips as easy. That IPR on the 6.0 is a beast to get to for me. I settled on gassers only to find they too needed me reaching behind on the passenger side valve covers. Oh well. If it were not for the Ghestopo Delete police, I would play the game again with the 6.7 2017-2024. More power than I will ever need, but also many problems with Electrical Gremlins. When I can find wiring diagrams and pinouts, I can work the solutions out up to the ECU. Dodge Chevy and Ford all have problems. I am a Ford lover other than the older 67-72 Chevy trucks or their Apache trucks.

I will probably go with SIA and find someone to do the programing. I might invest in a HPTuner setup and justdo the deletes on diesels. So many just need to reset tires, seat memories, add cruise or remote radio controls. Still some good money in those that would pay for the kit.

At my age I hate to invest into things I may seldom use. $4500 for the Oscilloscope, another $5-600 for HPTunes, is a big investment. My garage is already topping $20k in tools. Now I even have a local shop I can rent a 2 post 15k lift with. I just do not have the energy. Like I said finding wiring diagrams takes more money than the Oscilloscope over a years subscription. Maybe I will luck out and find the more common pinout and engine bay schematics I can make a master file with.
