Stalling after timing job question / re-learn - update
So I just finished installing a new timing set, phasers, oil pump, cam followers, VCT solenoids, spark plugs and lash adjusters on my 2004 F150 5.4 3 valve lariat. I used all OEM ford parts, upgraded the oil pump to the 340HV and changed to 5W30 oil. Truck started up fine and runs very smooth. On my first drive this morning into work I noticed that I was getting about 2 more MPG than previously. I also noticed that once warm, the truck was struggling to idle at stops and stalling occasionally. On my way home from work gas mileage is creeping back to where it was originally before the timing job and stalling / idling seems to be improving. No CEL present.
Question - Was there a re-learn procedure I should have done after this job, or is there something else going on here ? Advice appreciated.
* Update - day 2 was more stalling at stops and poor idling. I decided to clean the throttle body last night. This morning's drive to work was perfect. No stalling, no hesitation, good idle. Hopefully this simple fix solved this issue. Hope this helps someone.
