I bought a 1995 f350 CC 7.3 5spthat I want to convert to 4x4 so I found a guy who delivered a 2008 f350 CC C&C to me that is 4x4 but the 6.4 is toast. I have $3000 for the 1995 and $1500 for the 2008. My plan was to swap the axles from the 2008 into my 1995 but I have since been told I should just swap my 7.3 and then cab from my 1995 to the 2008. What do you guys think? My 1995 has no rust and I want this cab. The 2008 isn't bad but I have no interest in keeping this cab. I am not worried so much about the transfer case and front driveshafts at the moment. The "true" 4x4 will come later. I want to get the bones in place right now.
It is good that you have a donor vehicle. Should make things easier. I would swap the axles. Lots of info and support for that swap. You will still need a 4wd trans for the 7.3 engine.
