what drive train to use?

I have a 1959 F350 2wd with a 390 partially installed. Questioning if it's wise to reassemble heads, intake manifold, transmission, etc... Or should I put another drive train complete in this?
Would a 302 or something else be better?

-Thanks, Chris

It would help if we knew how you plan to use the truck?
When 302's were used in trucks they were only used in F100 / F150 for the 80's
If you are going to use it as a truck I would go 390 and even if not as a truck a 390 would be better to push that heavy truck around in my book.
It also sounds like you have the 390 parts but nothing for a 302?

If a 390 is already mounted in there, anything else but another big block with require different mounting! 390's are good engines.
