Have a base model 2008 e-250 I purchased at auction with no PATS that won't crank with antitheft light flashing. It died twice while driving and took a number of minutes of flashing antitheft but eventually started, it now wont crank at all after trying for a few days. Using Forscan it says it cannot talk to the PCM (see attached) and a number of other modules can't talk to it. The odometer after a few minutes turns to all dashes, I picked up a junkyard PCM but no luck with same issue. The key assembly doesn't have a PATS ring only around it, only the small key inserted sensor, so I don't believe PATS antitheft engaged. Looking for things to maybe try next
Instrument gauge blink codes are:
Antitheft light rapidly blinks for 1 min then slower blinks for , 1x 21x 14x 7x 6x 7x 6x 7x
Airbag light, on for 6x seconds, then blinks 1x 4x 5x 1x 4x then remains on
ok no anti theft on my 98 e150 4.6l, but bend and ck your battery connections. my positive was corroded under the insulating plastic. no juice got thru. ck the neg ground thru out. does your dash light up properly and stay on when you turn the key to crank over.
The Forscan data appears to show there is a problem with the communication network(s). I am not familiar with the network architecture on your 2009. I don't know your electronics/electrical knowledge but I would watch some YouTube videos on how to troubleshoot CAN networks. Then pull the wiring diagram on your van. I think the network on these older vans is pretty simple compared to a new vehicle.
You may have a bad instrument cluster that is pulling the network down. I think Forscan can communicate with the PCM but it can't read a particular DTC.
