Can't get enough antifreeze in just the radiator after replacing the popped bypass hose. Flushed all the old stuff out (with the hose off);
Refilling the radiator, it'd only swallow about a gallon, and I'm nowhere near 50/50, tester of course sez: WEAK
Tips to drain enough to add a couple gallons? Looks like capacity is 17qts...
If I have been flushing a cooling system with water when done I usually add half the system capacity worth of concentrate then top up with water. You can use one of those floating bulb tester things to see the concentration. We have to run a little stronger than 50/50 so I error on the side of stronger when doing this. Just my 2c.
Remove the block drains so you can replace the coolant with good 50/50. I use 70/30. You can take the drains to the hardware store and get P E T C O C K S (dang auto-censor) of the same thread so your next coolant flush will be easy.
