Ball Joints

I have an '03 F250 PSD Crew Cab bought Jan 3 this year and has 33 k on it now. I just hit a sewer drain along a curb and broke the passenger front wheel and twisted off the pinion in the steering box. I got this all fixed, but when I took it to my local "allignment experts", they told me all 4 ball joints are bad and would be about $700 to replace due to the amount of labor to disasemble the front end. My question is, with 4 new tires, and no signs of damage to the truck, will my dealer consider this a warranty repair? Thanks in advance for any advice!

It is decided on a case by case basis. They should at least inspect it (at no cost to you) and make a determination....

Spoken like a true Dealer!!! LOL

If they do need to be replaced.........it can be done for way less than $700. That price is way too high.

I don't know what your location is, but Les Schwab tires quoted me 400 for my ball joints.

I just replaced hte balljoints on my 99 F-350 Dually. NAPA sells the parts for $197.00 and it took about 5 hours to do both sides.

I had my ball joints replaced on my 97 a few months back and parts and labor were $350. Not to mention they were replaced with the greaseable type.

I appreciate all the responces, but my question is more reguaring weather or not the dealer will consider ball joints warrantyable. I am within the 3/36 @33K, and just haven't got it in to have them look yet (my truck is my office and hard to do without). Just looking for ammo for when I DO get it in. Thanks again for all the replies!! :-)

We've had a few E450's that the dealer replaced under warranty. I'veeen some go bad with less than 10,000. If one dealer hassles you about it go to the next.

Warranty

I had my Ball joints replaced under extended warranty, but warranty none the less in Eastern MA. It would have been approx $700

Why is it that Ford can have something as remarkable as the Powerstroke but can't build a front end that lasts....My ball joints were just replaced (really needed it sooner) at 60,000....
