Setting up the display to show TRIP 2 is easy, but for some reason it disappears again on an engine restart, and only trip 1 is shown again.
Odd.
Must be doing something wrong: any help appreciated.
When I first got mine, it would "reset" my "choices" if I let it sit for a week or two, without turning on ign.
I asked about it at dealer, but they had no clue.
It seems to have fixed itself, as it now stays with my choices, no matter what. I have not gotten to disconnecting
my modem yet, so I assumed some update came at some point.
For info, assume we are talking about the basic dual analog guages, with 4" center display
(as most of the complaints have centered around full digital instr cluster)
Dealers are clueless - even the good ones troubleshoot the new electronics. It's like most cases these days, buyers know more about the features than the folks selling them. This is true for TV's, appliances, vehicles, etc.
In this instance, the settings are fickle and it seems that the driver's center stack resets when the system updates OTA. The settings in the infotainment system seem to stay the same, but they can also change at will.
I agree w/ @OX2 mine seems to have been more stable lately. But I want to get an Edge Insight monitor for all the important stuff then leave the TPMS on the center stack and be done with everything else.
Mine does the same thing. It will remove some screens, and, usually, adds the Calm Screen. It also has the very annoying habit of erasing the data on my Trip #2 screen... which is the one I use to monitor my oil change mileage.
I've said it before, I'll say it again... the Ford Sync is a piece of junk, software wise. Slow, erratic, buggy. Commodore 64 material.
Yes mine does it also. Super annoying. Like someone said, it seems to do it whenever there's an OTA update. I turn off calm screen, and turn on Trip 2 and Tire Pressure, but it gets reset from time to time, probably whenever an update comes in.
Doesnt answer the question, but for me, the trip displays are no longer useful for me. What I liked was the estimated gallons burned for that trip. That has been removed on 2024.

I was hoping/thinking one of the "updates" actually "fixed" the reset issue, and that is why mine seems stable now.
Wasn't even considering that the updates themselves might cause this.
Maybe you get a bunch of updates when you first buy a new truck, then they "calm down" after a while.
Would line up with being reset during and "update" and now over a year later it seems better.
