Momma, myself, and 250 pounds of dogs just returned from a road trip to Montana in the 2022 F250 Lariat, not towing anything............some numbers..........
2,693 miles....138.418 gallons of fuel at a cost of $504.98.......$3.648 per gallon average.....19.455 MPG, hand calculated ......makes me happy........
Good deal, bet y'all had a great time. I need to get back up that-a-way next year, maybe late spring. Sure is beautiful country.
When I'm traveling, and not hauling a trailer or a load in the bed (but have my usual couple hundred pounds of tools and such in the cab rear), I also smile when I see that I get similar mileage (typically 19.5 to 20 MPG). Sure beat my old Tundra, I was lucky to get 14-16 MPG on the highway with that guzzler (with a very stiff tailwind).

Okay, well, without the details on the truck it is hard to judge how good that is.
Weekend before last, I drove up to Michigan, not towing, got 22.7 MPG calculated, running 75 to 80 most of the way.
But, so long as you're happy, then it doesn't matter much.
Heading that way mid September - Nebraska sand hills, Black hills, Glacier nat. park - my 7.3L doesn't get that kind of milege, even unloaded. We get even worse mileage because we avoid interstate highways, to see the country - "Enjoy the journey as well as the destination".
But, as they say, if ya gotta worry about what it costs, ya can't afford it........
