For some reason the emblems are different from right to left ...is one possibly wrong yr replacement?? If so which one ? Does someone have a match if so . Says camper special Just says camper in middle
One of them is wrong but figuring out which one will take research that most easily starts with the VIN stamped on the frame. Experts here will likely have other things to direct our attention to.
NPD seems to suggest that 1973 was the year for SUPER CAMPER emblem and that SUPER CAMPER SPECIAL was for 1974-1979 models.
I don't consider myself an expert but I've seen it posted on these forums by people who do know more than me, that the SUPER was dropped after 76... No Super for 77-78-79.
All I got, and I do not even see a "Super Camper" offered. AFAIK the badging on the fender, so its a 73-76...ish. Mid to late 77-79 badging moved to the cowl.
I'd bet you have a replacement fender or someone swapped badging on one fender once upon a time. It looks like it has been repainted quite some time ago.
It looks like one side has had paint work on the fender, the other side maybe not. Perhaps when the paint work was done the emblem needed to be replaced & the wrong one was ordered. It was installed & no one cared, or noticed.
Definitely has been repainted in the past so that is what I figured as well....a fender replacement with wrong emblem...they sure are pricey on eBay to find matching one
Yeah, good luck finding replacements. Just gotta keep at it if you want the right ones. I chose to spend hours restoring mine for that very reason. The repop ones (if you can find the exact ones you need) are garbage.
