Anyone got suggestions for new shocks for 21’ f-250 CCLB that spends half the winter December-April with a Boss 8’2” v-plow on? I also keep roughly around 500 lbs in the bed for extra weight in the winter.
Heard a lot of recommendations on Bilstein but I’m hesitant to go with them as I had bad luck with them in the past before my SD. But willing to go back to Bilstein if they’re talked up enough.
I have fox 2.0. that I replaced the stock shocks with all around. 6.2 gas engine with plow prep springs and a 2" level. I have a Western Prodigy and keep counterweight in my bed all winter. All I know is they are better than stock was for sure. Compared to Bilsteins I have no idea as I have never had them on my truck. They are about the same price and you probably find a 40/40/20 split between Fox /Bilstein/ Rancho on here. I may try the Eibachs next, same price range and one member has them and likes them on his diesel.
Bottom line is whatever you decide you will like better than stock.
I bought Fox 2.0 in '17 for my new f-350, after 14 months 1 front and 1 rear were leaking oil on my shop floor, so I will not go back to Fox. I now have a F350 KR HO with 27K miles and looking for a replacement shock, use is all highway miles 50% towing fairly heavy bumper pulls. Suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I put Fox 2.0's on my '17 when it was new and they are still on and perform great in my opinion. My truck will tow heavy from time to time and see a lot of off road too. I currently have 78k miles and shocks look and feel new.

Go with the Bilsteins, you will love them, Have them on my 2020 F-450 Get them at Rock Auto,
I have Fox 2.0 LSC Reservoir on my 24 now. Had Bilstein 5100s prior. Reason I swapped is I use this truck less for towing now and wanted a bit better empty ride. If you have weight on the truck a majority of the time, I would not hesitate to go with the 5100's or even better yet the 5160's. Digressive shocks (like Bilstein's) are wonderful for towing/hauling.
