In 2003 I purchased a set of seat covers to protect my leather seats in my 2001 Lariat trim F-550. I believe the color is Taupe. The seat covers are now in rough shape and need to be replaced. I am having trouble finding seat covers that are Taupe color in a durable material. What are you folks using? Is there a seat cover color selection that would still look decent with my Taupe interior?
If you are looking for the actual seat cover (the material that is bound to the seat), then there are options
As pointed out above, Richmond leather is a good choice. Theseatshop.com is another one. There are some deals on ebay as well if you don't need leather surfaces.
if you are just looking for a cover that goes over the existing seat, the above won't have what you need.
I appreciate the replies. I need to clarify my post. My Factory seat covers are in perfect condition. I am looking for the heavy duty covers to protect my factory seats from damage from my dogs. Covercraft used to have a few different options. There was a couple of other companies that also had options. I have an e-mail request in at Covercraft but no answer so far. I am hoping someone has other suggestions.
Thanks
Many years ago we selected a small, family owned business to provide seat protection for one of our vehicles. At the time, we had a Doberman and a Shi Tzu. For the past decade, we have purchased several more sets of these seat covers in various configurations to fit the needs of the vehicle. We currently have them in a 2000 F-250, 2008 Subaru Tribeca and 2016 Ford Escape.
These things are tough, water repellent and wash up easily. Even red GA clay is not able to knock these things down. Our current big girl dog is a lab mix and a water dog. The seats in the Subaru still look new after over a decade of big dogs trampling them and soaking them down with water from rivers, streams and lakes. I use Lexol conditioner annually on the leather of our vehicles including the seats. The covers do not look like the high dollar covers that you find on the internet, but that is not their purpose. They are focused on function instead of form.
Check them out and see if they are right for your application.
Seems they have a 15% off coupon on their site right now.
I've had a set of Seat Covers Unlimited in my F250 lariat for a couple of years now. They are custom made for your truck in the USA. I've had good luck with them and would recommend.
I also have a cheap set from Cabela's in my f250 plow truck with a bench and those have been fine too, though it gets way less use.
