Air filter a HOT MESS!
Decided to check the filter today by ignoring the OEM restriction sensor which was flat. What a mess! Heading to the AP store for another filter. Years ago I ordered from RifRaff diesel their air filter intake mod but never installed it. I still am not sure about it BUT want to know what yall think in doing away with the stock "cold air" box and using the RifRaff gig.

As to whether or not you should do away with your stock cold air box, that depends on the condition of your air box and lid, particularly at the alignment tabs, the latching points, and the perimeter lip of the lid.
If you post photos of all those aspects of your OEM airbox, the members here can tell you if you should keep or ditch your stock intake.
A leaking lid from broken alignment tab or latch cleat holder is a lot worse than a 6637, which is worse than an intact fully enclosed protective filter housing that keeps the filter dry and out of harm's way, and only draws air from outside of the hot engine compartment.
