Single tank conversion

I'm installing a 38 gallon tank in my 88 f150. I can't find a 4 nipple reserve tank. Can I plug the two hose nipples for the front tank and just use the two for the rear tank now the 38 gal tank? The original switching/reserve tank has 6 hose nipples. And if I leave the dash switch on rear tank will it function?

I would recommend you convert your one tank to an ITR pump and do away with the switching valve and pump on the frame.
