4 cylinder motor had distributor removed and water entered. My guess is the motor is trash? There is a transmission on it.

8 cylinder also feels locked up. Unless the motor is something unusual I’m thinking that locked up probably from rust it also has little or no value? heads are stamped 59A-B hard to read but easy to read on other side. looks like the motor may have mixed parts. The plug wires are grouped is sets of 4 connected to two different caps.

A couple dash components look like they might be salvageable.

I wouldn't junk them just on the cursory evaluation. However, it is indictive of needing more attention than many of the "will it run" exercises portray. Even if the block ends up being trashed beyond reason, the accessories, fittings, and components may certainly still be of use. Remember, these things are not made anymore.

On the V8, There are two caps,.one for each side of the distributor.

Yessir, she's pretty dang rough. I'm a native of Western Wa and agree fully with your statement. Having owned Many old ford trucks of the 'heavy' variety, the '40-'41 is my favorite, but I have only owned one of trhem.. Somehow I always find the '42-'47 jailbar years and I like them just fine.I really don't see much future in that truck except for what Tim mentioned about front clip trim. There is a guy in Stanwood Wa who is big on FB Marketplace, selling a '40-41 tonner pickup. He has about 50 old trucks, mostly for sale, mostly ford, but some cool MH converted fords and an IH travelall that I lust after and am just barely able to keep from looking at. If you ever get up to the islands, look me up.( Three six 0, 3 one 7, ate OH 5 one.) Text

Thanks for the info on the local truck guy. I have a 54 f-600 I’m working on that’s in good shape. It’s all I can handle right now. Will post about it on the ‘48 to ’56 forum. I removed the hood chrome and two vertical chrome pieces off the grill. All in good shape aside from the rust. Latch is nice and functional. Also removed the bucket head lights. Had to cut them out of the fenders. It hurt to do it and it will never look the same out there in the yard. I feel like a castrated it - but at least I saved them from rusting into powder. I also pulled the Speedometer head and odometer which were in surprisingly good condition.

I did find f-6 emblems on the green truck behind it. It’s a ‘48 and will post about it later on the ’48 to ’56 board

I also removed this electric pump from the driver’s side frame under the hood. You can see it a photo I posted earlier. There is a stock fuel pump on the top rear of the motor. So what it this electric pump for? The steel part and transformer are toast but the zinc is in good shape. The truck has a 2 speed rear end wondering if it’s a transmission or rear end fluid pump.
