F150 ABS Module (Glove box) causing issues, should I replace?
I have successfully gotten rid of all codes, and got things running super smoothly (relative to where I started, which was no-start, jumpy shifting, etc).
As one of my most recent debugging steps, I followed some advice here to resolve some jumpy shifting (1st-2nd) and spedometer issues – I got behind the glove box and pulled the cable harness to the ABS module back there. It fixed the shifting and speedo issues 100%. I even tried plugging it back in, driving again (issues reappeared) and then unplugging to double-check that it was the cause.
My question is, should I:
1. Replace the ABS module
2. Something else? I've seem some others report a similar issue (wiring issue from ABS to master cylinder, etc), but I really don't know how to debug.
3. Do nothing, leave the ABS module disconnected
Any help would be appreciated. I'd prefer not to leave it disconnected only since I'm trying to get the truck to "full working order" and pulling a cable and calling it fixed isn't really my MO.
Thanks!
