simplify the engine

I have an F250 with a 460 from CA so with the smog pump, EGR and non working aircon. I want to get the engine bay a little less cluttered and remove everything that isn't necessary for the engine to run and perform well. I would also like to get a little more life out of the engine without spending a fortune on parts. Anyone able to tell me (with pictures perhaps) what can be easily removed?

Everything can be easily removed and there are buyers for it. just take everything off you can't hurt anything.

Your engine is the wrong color by the way. the dipstick appears correct. if you care you could try fix it while you're stripping the smog junk off.

Keep the PCV. Keeps the internals clean.

If it is still working, consider keeping the evap system. Keeps the gas fumes in check and saves making up another venting system.

What ever you take off, take it off correctly. Don't cut and hack it off. One, you might want to put it back some day. Two, you could sell it easier. Three, if you decide to sell the truck in the future, the buyer might really appreciate it.

I would strongly consider leaving it all on. Most of it will not make much of an impact, but when you remove it, most people will see the immediate lack of something that is supposed to be there. The biggest thing in your way is the huge AC compressor, but if you remove it, you will then need to remove the hoses, and you will still have the condenser in the front (unless you remove) and the evaporator box that identifies it as an AC vehicle missing pieces. You could save it all, but I would save on the vehicle. I know that is a personal preference, but leaving a vehicle complete will be more aesthetic to most people than removing it so less busy. The only exception to this is smog stuff, which people hate. However, your pump is likely underneath anyway, so it's not really in the way. I would just remove the belt and forget about it. If the vehicle ever comes back to CA, it is going to need that stuff.
