Ok guys, here's a good one. My friend of mine has an Integra LS with a 5 speed tranny. Runs a 16.1 stock. He has an Iceman cold air intake and a full cat back GReddy exhaust. He now runs a (his best run BTW) 15.8 in the quarter. I raced him tonight about 20 minutes. I was impressed to say the least. My truck is bone stock right now. We raced 2 times from a stop light.
The light is perfectly straight and measures a 1/4 to the very foot where we raced. It's been there for a while. People race there all the time and it IS up to distance specs. The first time I blew the start. He beat me by about 5 lengths.
We pulled back around to go again. I nailed the start right on green with no tire hop. That time he beat my by only 1 1/2 lengths. I don't know how fast that was, but I was impressed. It had to be a low 16. Anyways, I thought I'd share this with ya.
In case you were wondering yes, he ran his car on the strip at Hallsville in Tyler, TX for his 15.8 time. Thought I'd share this race with ya! GOD, I can't wait for Houston!
That's about right. If he's running 15.8's (his best time) and he beat you by 1 1/2 car lengths, which is actually about a full second, your running exactly where you always knew you were running. So no real suprise there. After you get your chip installed, that will knock at least 4 tenths off, most likely. A few more minor mods and you'll be beating him !!!
