We have a Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2 in our 2015, and have it hooked up to a converter that plugs into the OBD port. It's set to stay on in "sentry mode" for 24 hours, but it has a feature that monitors the voltage of the system. If it drops below a safe voltage, it will automatically turn the camera off regardless of the 24-hour timeout. I discovered that the battery was starting to go, when the camera light was off when I started the truck. Also, it took 30-60 seconds to come on even after the truck was running. It became my battery early-warning system.
