I'm getting ready to get all my parts on the truck. I retire soon and have the plan of finishing the truck. I have a 3 inch dropped front axle and Ihave read that you need to bend the arm on spindle of have bump steer but can a person raise the setting box the 3 inches to offset that.
Theoretically, yes. But that would entail modifying the frame to allow the steering box to come up the 3". Do you have the space beside the engine for the box to come up higher without getting into the head or exhaust? Then there's the issue of the column coming into the cab through the firewall 3" higher, coming up through the dash because rotating the box for the column to come through at the normal spot would also mess up the position of the pitman arm. Or you cut the steering shaft and fit a separate column, not to mention probably a couple other things not coming off the top of my head. Might be easier to just modify the steering arm.

Yes you are right but I was trying to think of other ways than bending but it looks like that will be the direction I go.
