Dirty MAP sensor. Check yours now.

Quick and easy thing to do/clean to your 6.7s. Short story long, I saw an AD for S&Bs new map sensor spacer and bough it. Had it shipped to my AZ house and then installed a week or so later. Check photos. I’m not sure if I want to hear/feel a difference in sound and feel but I think I do. After I fired it up I swear it is idling quieter and after I drove it on the freeway my truck has never showed 16 current MPG while I was driving on the freeway. But now it does. I do have a lot of miles (182k) but it’s easy to check & clean. Would recommend!!

I just installed the Banks MAP sensor relocation kit. Mine was still clean at 41k miles but now I don't have to worry about it.

I've got the Banks spacer sitting in the box waiting to be installed Saturday morning. I've got 75K on mine, and there's no telling what it's going to look like. But, have some sensor cleaning spray at the ready...

Just remembered that I have the rubber elbow to install on the A/C evap drain fitting, as well.

It might be placebo, but I definitely feel like my throttle response is significantly better after cleaning this sensor. I cleaned it while installing the banks relocation kit.

I put an egr filter in my trucks so I do not believe I will have anymore dirty sensors.

Here's another one on the subject. Still haven't checked mine but have considered getting the S&B spacer. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...e-regimen.html

If I would've thought of it at the time I installed the CCV reroute, I should've cleaned it then. Could've used that as the benchmark for whether the reroute affected soot buildup over time based upon what the sensor looks like now.

Hindsight...

When I did my ccv reroute, I also installed new hot/cold inter cooler pipes, ...and they were dripping from the cc gases. 5k miles later I pulled the new pipes and they are almost spotless, no more oily crud which should make for a happier engine

I also have a new SPE CAC hose, so I should replace that while I'm under the hood, thanks for the reminder. I'll pay attention to the condition of the OEM hose, see if it's similar to what you observed.

So where does the stuff in the filter go ?
I'm guessing it goes in the engine ?
