lift a 250 2 by to fit 12's
Howdy...this is my first tell-me-how to post, so I thought I'd throw it up here for feedback before I start turning wrenchs.
I have a 2-by '72 F250 w/ 10-16.5's on 8.25 centerlines right now. I had '70 back in the 80's that I got some 12-16.5's on the same rims with no rubbing. I'm looking to do the same, but my clearances look shorter. Best I can remember, I had a 1-1.25" spacer under my front springs on the 70.
I'm fixin' to manufacture something similar for my '72 and put a 2-3" lift spring on the back.
All I'm looking for is the clearance to get the 12's on without doing the hackety-hack on the front wheel wells. This truck has, and will see some serious baja action in terms of travel and aside from a shade more ground clearance and a wider foot print, I'm not looking to reach the moon.
I've been on every site looking for a 2-3" lift , and alas...people have lost interest in the toughest trucks know to man.
So dat's da plan. Any ideas before I begin would be appreciated.
