My truck didn’t come with a locking rear diff. There are lots of options for lsd/lockers. I decided to go with the stock set up. I am capable of swapping the rear axle myself but not as confident about changing just the carrier and getting it set up right.
I picked up a complete rear axle with the same 140k miles my truck has for $625. The dash switch was about $50 on eBay and the controller was $55 on eBay.
the rear bolted in and plugged into the pre existing harness. You will need the jumper from the body to the diff if your axle doesn’t come with one.
The dash switch pulled right out and the new one plugged in and snapped right back into the dash.
the controller is by the passenger footwell. Takes just a couple of minutes to change. Keep in mind you do not have to completely remove the back screw.
I confirmed by lifting the truck and spinning the wheels the diff is locking on. Then confirmed driving it with a scan tool it locks, reduces voltage over time, unlocks at 30mph, relocks and 25mph.
My truck only has the 2” monochrome dash screen and it has no indicator that I can see so I do not have an indicator when it is on. Another member said his does show the indicator. I am guessing he has the slightly larger color screen.

Thats awesome... great job.
Just an FYI but now that you have a locker in the rear, check this out:
Could probably use forscan and activate the light. Just a thought.
Yes, I believe it's in there somewhere. Has been said before on here it can be done but there was no guidance as to what change was needed with Forscan.
