I'm guessing BAAA-16526-A Running Board Splash Shield that is missing the rubber.

For some reason the text got lost and I didn't realize it when I posted. I wrote it all up so here it is again.

The question is what is it? This was mounted/screwed to the cab corner pinch weld on the passenger side.

The reason I am confused is there is only one one the passenger side and no evidence of there ever having been one on the drivers side. No old mounting holes or anything.

It definitely held some kind of rubber splash guard as it has thick staples in it which I pulled out. I am not sure what replacement rubber part I should be looking for and if I should be getting a replacement for the drivers side or maybe it never had one by design?

Thanks!!

Only on the passenger side until 1956 according to my parts book. Don't know the reasoning.

MidFifty had modern skirting that was similar as explained here: https://m.midfifty.com/cat/2017_114.pdf

Thanks!!!!!

Next I need to figure out what the right rubber skirt to get and whether someone else has the drivers side for a 56 I can use. It looks like the rubber skirt for that is a separate piece in the Midfifty link.

53-55 trucks have the gas tank below the running board on the driver's side.

That makes sense! Thanks! Since it is all apart I didn't visualize that.
