Cool Introducing Vektr!

Hey, Vektr here. Been finding myself flipping through old post on this site quite frequently these days for the sake of keeping my fine, fine Ford on the road, so I figured I might as well just join!

Nothing too special here, just a beat up farm truck; 1989 F-150. 302, 4x4, 4-speed. Bought it last October with the intent of it being a project to tinker with and to practice driving stick on (first manual transmission vehicle I've owned) but a month later my other car went out and damned if it hasn't become my daily driver. No breakdowns or major issues, has been a fine vehicle! Mostly know the whole history of it; Made here in Virginia at the Norfolk plant, was told the original owner was a pig farmer in Maryland who used it to haul his piggos. A friend's stepdad bought it in the mid/late 2000's when they were moving from Maryland to Virginia after which it was mostly relegated to sitting on a hill and occasionally hauling a boat. Eventually he sold it to his stepson who then sold it to me, aaand now it's sitting in my yard. Ugly old thing but it's solid and runs pretty good. Hasn't nickel and dimed me either; done some maintenance and small repairs and it seems to be going in the right direction. Seems like a good old truck so I'm willing to put a little time and effort into it so this feels like the forum to be on! I'm fairly handy with a wrench but I'm NOT a mechanic so the specifics kinda get me sometimes, seems like a lot of good info here.

Interestingly enough I recently learned that from where my friend's stepdad mainly used it for hauling trailers the poor old thing has gone less than 20k miles in nearly 20 years; it's sitting at 217k {215k when I got it} miles at the moment and best I can tell it hit 200k somewhere around 2005! Feels kinda nice to be the person to really get the old thing back on the road after so long!
