I had my '99 F350 detailed after an Alaska trip of some 6k miles. They covered the alt and let fly. They avoided the mat attached to the hood but every thing else seemed to be fair game. Other threads I have read talked about getting the water out of the valley by blowing it out with compressed air. I'd be really careful around the air intake system. You don't want to suck any water into the engine. A couple of replies to that thread mentioned using a turkey baster (speling?) to suck the water out of the valley. Seems they had a few problems with their wives over that.
