acquired 85 85 f350 with a 460 not running .no fuel to carb. checked inertia switch, not tripped . then went to fuel pump relay, has juice to relay, wont trigger. was told there is a relay at back of engine that triggers fuel pump relay when correct oil pressure is reached. tracked down the two wires to the relay and no juice to it. got the truck to run bypassing the relay.checked all fuses, does juice go through the inertia switch to the sending unit that triggers the fuel pump relay? I'm at my Witts end thanks for any help. much appreciated
I am not sure but I believe you would have power at the inertia switch before and oil psi switch.
Easy to check with a light or meter.
You say you have power at the relay so that would be the 12 vols to power the pump right?
You also have to have a trigger wire from the oil psi switch and the inertia switch.
Jump out the 1 switches and see if you get the pump to run.
The plug each one in 1 at a time to see what one is not working.
I am going to be the oil psi switch.
Also think you would hear the pump(s) run when you first turn the key to on but that might only be the EFI motors?

You can see the inertia switch feeds the relay, and then the relay feeds the tank selector relay if you have that, and then it goes back to the pump or pumps.
where might i look for a fusible ling for the inertia switch. there are two on the battery side of the solenoid or am i looking under dash in the wiring harness thanks again for all the help
