The crusty old dimmer (High - Low Beam) foot switch needed replacement.
There are 3 blade pins.
Looking on-line the Autozone UDS419 looked to match but checking it out at the store, the body matched but the 3 pins were grouped more closely together than the original, no match for the connector. The parts person said that was what her computer indicated as a match.
Went to NAPA and the ECH DS114 $20 was a perfect match.
Mine had nuts on the back side of the bolts that held the switch down to the floor (one missing).
Originally the holes in the floor board might have been threaded, hard to say.
I used new 3/4" #10-24 machine screws with nylon capture nuts to retain the new switch.
Holy crap I was just messing with mine this morning!
68 F250 camper special. Was sticking, thinking to myself that I have to mess with that headache but no worry now, thanks!
@briangregory Excellent! the whole reason for posting was to possibly help someone else. I think mine is OEM (72 camper special) but I've only owned it since 1997 so I cant be absolutely sure. If your pin width is as mine was, Napa, if narrower, check out Autozone. One of my two bolt holes the 10-24 went right through, the other I used a tap to clean out thinking it might be threaded but on tightening it instantly stripped and then the 2nd bolt went through without a problem. I put a vice grip on the capture nut and had enough arm reach that kneeling outside the cab I could hold the vice grip while tightening on the cab side with a Phillips.
Happy hunting!
I just bought one off of rock auto or ebay I think and it popped right in. You never know with parts these days. It's all over the place and no one seems to care.
