I’m having an issue with the sound on my truck. It’s a 2018 f150 xlt. On wired car play it sounds great! On Bluetooth it sounds hollow and quiet. I’ve checked the sound settings and I don’t see anything wrong there. I’m using an iPhone 14 Plus and everything is updated on the iPhone! What is the possible problem?
man I wish it was that simple! The volume is up! But the sound quality is totally different on Bluetooth? It sounds hollow but all the sound settings on the head unit are still the same? Plug in my sync cord and the sound gets deeper with more bass and sounds way better?
I found the sound quality over BT always sucked, at least with the iPhone. Not only in the trucks, but anything else connected via BT. It gets worse when streaming music TO the phone then via BT to another device, but when plugged directly in, sounds great. This is going all the way back to using My Ford Touch. Even on the latest version of Sync 3 I prefer the plugged in sound.
Bluetooth in general does not have the fidelity of a wired connection. If you had a WiFi connection it would be better, but a wired connection is best.
There have been updates to the bluetooth protocol, and depending on the vintage of the paired devices it will be "better", but it will still fall short dependent on your hearing.
