Long time F-150 owner (since 78), but new to my 24 F-250 KR. Coming from my '96 Eddie Bauer, this thing has a lot of controls! Have not figured out all of the controls yet, but have most sorted out. Truck typically garage kept, but last weekend I had to leave it outside while connected to my cargo trailer. When I went to drive away in the morning it took some time to get the heavy dew burned off the windshield, rear window, and mirrors. Easy to find the heated/defrost windshield switch, the rear window heat switch, but couldn't find any mirror defrost button. Mirrors did clear as I drove, so no big deal as frost is still a month away.
Had some time today so dug thru the owners manual looking for the mirror defrost and a couple other issues I had. Page 149 says the heated rear window switch also turns the mirror defrost heaters on/off, but then says you can turn the mirror heaters on/off independently using the mirror defrost button (their words) and shows the mirror switch icon (but fails to show where it is located).
Looked everywhere on the truck this afternoon, and no physical mirror defrost button could be found (not on the drivers door where it would be expected, near the headlight controls, in the steering wheel, below the center console, nor in over head console). Looked all thru the controls of the center screen, but could not find it there either. Do all the trucks really have this button, or do the higher trim packages eliminate them? If they have it, where should it be?
Thanks for any help, still trying to figure this thing out.
I know mine is an older 17 XL but I had the same issue back then. Mine is with the A/C Heater controls. Circled in the picture. Probably not but maybe?
owner's manual covers many models and trim levels. So that mirror only button may not be on your truck. Also I have noted many errors in the owner's manual through out Ford lineup
