2016 F250. Power mirrors, manual telescoping. My dash shows -40F for the outside temp. Based on my research this means the sensor is missing or totally not working. Based on the Ford parts diagram it is shown with the passenger mirror but not where it's mounted. I disassembled the entire mirror. There also is no visible exterior place on the mirror for the sensor. All the wires at the connector in the door are all accounted for. I also see some mention on a location near the radiator and hood latch. No sign of it there either. Does anyone else have any ideas?
Should be in the bottom of the passenger side mirror
Note: Fleet vehicles equipped with manual HVAC and manual aero style mirrors do not come equipped with an AAT sensor. However, PID data will still display an AAT value. The PID data is calculated using other inputs (e.g. IAT and ECT sensors)
Do you have tow mirrors? Manual HVAC or Dual zone automatic HVAC? Any codes set in the PCM?

I do have tow mirrors. Manual HVAC. No codes set. My mirror does not have the sensor as shown. Of course this is just an annoyance issue more then anything. They must have the wiring someplace. In my experience they use the same wiring harness for different trim packages.
Is this -40F display a new thing or always been there and you’re trying to fix it now?
If you remove the passenger door panel(4 screws) and unplug the door lock switch and window switch, you can then see the mirror plug on the door. Pin 12 yellow/green and Pin 13 yellow/violet are for the AAT sensor.
Is it possible this truck had the aero mirrors on it and someone swapped them for the tow mirrors? Possible the passenger side mirror was replaced with an aftermarket one without a sensor or from an 08-10 truck mirror?
I can not find any reference to the sensor being mounted up front for 2011 and up trucks, I know the 08-10 trucks had the sensor on either side of the radiator support.

Thanks. I will pull the door panel again now that I know what colors to be looking for. I will see if there are extra wires in the main harness that are not in the mirror harness.
