Single cab storage ideas
but - what have you al come up with to create some storage.
i upgraded to a king ranch seat with fold down arm rest with cup holders which is a win. But would love something on the door panel, or floor… or?
If you still have a tank behind the seat you are pretty limited. If not you could build/buy an organizer for behind the seat. I remember seeing them years ago, but don't know if anyone still makes them. Basically just a shelving/storage bin shaped to fit behind the seat.
A bit more creative would be adding storage boxes, perhaps lockable, in the floor that you would move the floor mat to access. You could add some map pockets to the door, but there is not much space down there.
You could build a floor console that goes over the transmission hump, probably not worth it if you have manual trans w/4wd.
I will be adding a crossbed tool box to mine for extra storage but looks like I may need to build it as what I want doesn't seem to be manufactured anymore.
The headliner/or where the visors mount to be more accurate; they used to sell shelves that would bolt in where the visors are currently. The visors then mounted to the shelf. I am not sure if they make those though. Could probably fabricate one using some aluminum sheeting and ABS plastic...which gives me an idea for my own now that I am thinking about it...

This is the depth of the bottom of the tray.
I have one in my 81 F100 that has a little different lay out.

All one sees as said.
Pardon the black, it's just powder from old seat covers, I was puttiong new ones in ..... but there is a 4" wide chasm between the seat fold down armrest and so I made the combo cup holder / center compartment. It has a bolt or two through the floor too.
I made my inner door panels in three sections, and have pockets in the center sections. I may make deeper ones.
Where Wife has some paper towels but it shows how high they are. When the door is shut, there is a well hidden pocket of space below the seat side at track level, under the pockets, fore a tool bag or her purse.
I built this to use space on the hump.
I bought a light weight bed rail mount aluminum tool box a while back, it mounts to the bed behind the cab using a few bolt clamps .... not big C clamps. It sits 4" above the bed rail top. Empty it is a sinch to remove in a few minutes. I put a piece of carpet in it too, I can carry groceries, etc as desired in it. It's lockable, can be opened from either side. I placed an empty milk crate in it, I can add more. It provides extra secure dry storage.
