Whats yall take on reusing rod and main bolts, also what power levels would you switch from bolts to studs on these?
As far as I have seen those fastners are reusable. Personally any performance engine build I like to upgrade fasteners. Main bolts being changed over to studs will require align hohning the block tho. As far as rod bolts I am personally changing to an aftermarket billet rod. I believe there are those that say stock rods are good to "x" but really that's a crap shoot. Imo much over a 200cc injector it's prob not a bad idea. There are others pushing it much past that and others with much less fuel and have upgraded. Build by your budjet.
I would balance the OE rods and use ARP bolts in them at minimum. If billet out of budget, have tune changed to not pour on the timing until higher RPM to help with low speed cylinder pressure. Too much down low will bend or fracture a rod.
