Hi guys. I finally finished my 76 Hi Boy restoration a couple years ago. It was pretty easy putting the engine and trans in then because there was just a bare frame. I noticed about a year ago that after driving it I had trans oil on the trans pan bolts. Not much but I kept watching it. Well it never fixed itself so I guess I have to.
My question is it does not look like there's enough room to slide the pan out with the cross member right there. I noticed that the crossmember has bolts in it rather than being welded. So does that crossmember need to be totally removed or can you slide it forward or backward enough to remove the pan. It doesn't look that difficult but I said that when I started the restoration. Man did I eat those words. Any suggestions or hints would be greatly appreciated.
