So I get this text from the local dealer about some recall to address some kind of emissions issue. I replied STOP to unsubscribe, then deleted it. Anyone else receive something similar? Mine's a 2019 F-250 PSD Lariat if that matters.

Likely it's the dealer you bought it from, or a dealer you have/had service work done at, got a notification that certain trucks fall under a recall. They searched their customer database, then sent out mass texts to those individuals to let them know that their vehicle MAY fall under said recall and to have them set up an appointment to get it checked out. My local dealer that I work with has done this in the past. They also send us notification texts to let us know our appointment was entered into their system, and then a reminder a day or two in advance that our appointment is coming up.

 

nothing new showing for me. Mine is a 2021 though, I only get notifications if I schedule work to be completed.

 

Yes, on emissions recalls they will search out any owner who hasn't had it done, government requirement for Ford to do it.

 

I've received the texts. Still have the wiper and trailer brake recalls open.

 

OOH, don't ever reply to another text you don't want. Next thing you know, you have been added to a thousand other text bots. Just delete them. Delete and report if its spam. I once replied to unsubscribe to an email, next thing I know I am now subscribed to a hundred different ones. My spam filter list is HUGE.

 

It might be for 20e07. In California, they will not renew your registration if that recall has not been performed. As CA likes to lump everything under “emissions”, they hold registrations until you get it done. Similar issue with my 2018 Gold Wing. Unless I had the recall for the new fuel pump installed, they would not process the registration.

 

I got one today for my 2019 F-350 today. I'm certain it's not going to be a power increase.... I'll just go ahead and ignore for now.
