Looking at purchasing a 2013 ford f250 with a 6.2 with 190,000 on it . Any info would be greatly appreciated. I have never owned a ford with a 6.2 so I know nothing but what the internet tells me 🤦🏻. Is 190,000 to many miles to even consider ? Buying from a dealer 2 owners is all they know about it. What should I look at to make sure I want it or not.. It's not going to be a everyday driver 2 to 3 times a week.
Guy on this forum was over 900K, IIRC, until his truck got totaled by an animal. Good engine - just look for broken valve springs and bad coils. Otherwise, I've been very happy with mine.
If you have no misfires right now, you should be okay IMO.
Very reliable and tough truck. My 2013 got totaled around 260k. engine was going just fine. Ive got three more, one 2015 @ 170k and two 2016 between 180k and 200k. Engine most likely wont be your problem with an over 10 year old truck with 190k. Id be checking everything else and body rot depending on the state it came from.
COPs seem to be the biggest issue. Nothing detrimental by any means they just degrade and arc out sometimes causing a misfire code and other times just making a snapping sound and never causing a drivability issue.
