Maybe I haven't figured out how to search right, but I'm looking for threads of people actually swapping a 351 into a 302 truck. When I search I see lots of people asking about it, but I've only found one thread of it actually being done. Is there a better way to search for that?
Thanks
(I have a 1988 302 w/ M5OD)
This is not exactly what you asked for, but here is my write-up from where I swapped my '91 F150 daily driver from a 300 with M5OD to 351W.
I also swapped to a PimpX ECU at the same time.
I have a 94 f 150 that had a mass air 302 /4r70. I found a good rebuildable 351. I used the mass air on the 351 with no problem. The one thing I had a problem was getting the correct 28 oz flywheel. The 351 was in a 94 f 250/e4od. The flywheels do not interchange because the offset puts the converter too close to the converter. I finally took the 302 50 oz flywheel to a engine shop that balances crankshafts and they modified it.
Also the truck had no catalytic converters and the 302 exhaust crossover was too small and I finally found one from Summit that worked. Probably easier is to just run full dual exhaust.
Hope this helps
