I know this has been covered and I tried every possible combination I could think of in the search but couldn't find what I wanted.
The question I have is: My brother has a 1986 Full Size Bronco with a very tired and knocking 302 efi in it. The bronco is a standard 4-speed, and he wants to drop a fresh 351 into it. I told him it is not that easy, but since i'm the little brother he wont listen to me. So how difficult is this and will everything bolt up without swapping bellhousings, clutch plates etc...
Also will all 351s bolt in the same (Windsor's, Clevlands, M's) or does he need to stick with a Windsor?
Sorry for the repeat question ( I know I have seen it before).
Stick with the Windsor. Flywheel will need to change. Do a search with 302 & 351 for search terms. Even go back several days in this forum and you'll find some info.
The swap is eassssy. has to stick with windsor . for the swap he would need a new flywheel, distributor, upper/lower intake , 351 oilpan and accessory brackets from a 351 as well. should also find an ecu from a rig that ran a 351/manual tranny. the mounts and bellhousing will bolt right up. he should be able to find most if not all those parts at the wreckyard.
the harnes and electrical are the same to. he will need to get the Y pipe adjusted because the 351 sits a little higher then the 302.
