Thanks in part to the knowledge and information I got on this forum, I finally got my 49 on the road. Took me a little over 5 years, but did everything myself with the exception of bending some exhaust pipes.

That's beautiful F1 Bob, I like the paint & wheel/tire combination you picked, real eye catcher. Your 5 years of restoration will be paying off with all thumbs up & complements you'll be getting!
Very pretty truck! You did a great job, it looks fantastic. Have you ever considered the stainless grille bar caps? It would add a bit more bling to the front and would compliment the truck well, imho. https://www.dennis-carpenter.com/tru...grille-bar-kit
Superb! That's one of those well thought out builds where everything works together as an integrated package, not just a bunch of randomly styled stuck together parts that one sees too often. Well done!
Thanks for the compliments. I was able to rebuild the 8BA,,, but the transmission was cracked and looked like it had been sitting in a swamp for the last 20 years so I put a C4 automatic in it. I also did the 8.8 rear end for better gear ratio.. Power disc brakes on all 4 wheels.
I live on the far eastern end of the UP.
Thanks again for the kind words..
