weight oil????
I am concern about weight of oil and do understanding is that 15W40 is for normal temperature. The owner manual book said to use 10w30 when the temperature is under 50F and I can't find it anywhere that is for diesel engine (CI-4).
Was wondering if 15W40 be ok for Indiana weather since it will be under 50's to 0's for next 3 months?
Will the engine block heater help when I am stick to 15W40?

I run the 15-40 Rotella T in mine year 'round. I have a 7.3 PSD, '01, 77,000+ miles and have had no problems starting. I live in KY and have never plugged my heater in. Been below zero twice and she took off after two cranks and glow plugs.

I was going to switch mine to 10-30 Rotella this oil change too but found that weight of Rotella to not have the CI rating. The 15-40 does. Odd deal. I put the 15-40 in so I'm also interested in any 10-30's that meet that spec. Anyone?
