Has anyone installed a tow package on their Bronco Sport? My mother has a 2023 that we're trying to get one for. My folks ordered one off of amazon but after holding it up to the back end there is no way that one will work. I believe it was a Curtis brand. The muffler is in the way and you'd have to cut so much of the rear bumper our that you'd be into the heat shield and dangerously close to the rear backup sensors. Called the local Ford dealer and they said the factory units are backordered for 6+ months. Anybody have any other options?
For context, we're not actually intending to tow anything. My mother has difficulty walking and uses a scooter more and more these days. We're trying to get one of those scooter carriers put on for her so she can park it on the back end of the Bronco and not have to take the scooter apart all the time and try to lift it into the back on her own. Any thoughts are appreciated.
We have the OEM hitch. I would call around to different dealers and see if the lead times are any better. I did a Google search and see UHaul has them in stock:
I found some other aftermarket options too but this project got put on hold anyway. Not sure how my parents bought one that was so far off from being right to begin with, seeing how the actual one is supposed to mount. Found a few installation videos out there on the net. Thanks for the reply, MKrenn!
Probably confusion between Bronco and Bronco SPORT. If not your folks, then the OEM or Amazon. Ford alone gets to decide what to name things, but they could make things less confusing! I have to correct my wife all the time - you have the BRONCO SPORT honey..
..... your son and husband have BRONCOS.
