So I just bought a new 2024 F250 XLT with XLT premium package. In the bed it came with the BoxLink plates but didn’t come with the lockable tie down cleats. I know when I bought my 2017 F150 same package it came with the tie down cleats. For those who bought a XLT recently I’d like to know if yours came with the lockable tie down cleats or not?
You have to buy the older plates for the cleats or E-track accessories to work. Otherwise, those are just tie down points. I have some ratchet straps that will not hook to those so they seem like a money saver for Ford vs. including a cleat to attach to. Welcome to Ford where shareholders matter more than customers. 56% of Ford stock is owned by private equity so this is what you get.
I can't answer your question, but I just purchased a used '23 F350 Lariat Ultimate and it didn't have the cleats. Not sure if that means it didn't come with them or of the PO just kept them. I purchased a set of Ford cleats off Amazon.
It depends on how the truck was ordered. IIRC, Boxlink is standard and comes with the cleats. The 'tie down points' are an option and don't come with the cleats. My FIL's '23 came with the cleats, but those 'tie down points' look absolutely useless as they're too close to the inside of the box for a ratchet strap to hook to.
I too was curious why my 23 did not come with the cleats, went online and bought some for like $40, and promptly found a blister pack with four of them in the bin under the driver's rear seat.

Those are tie down points. They are not part of the box link system or previous E-track system. My XLT has the same hardware, they are called H-Loop” production Tie Down plates. If you wanted to use the Box Link system you would need the standard Interface Plate Kit (FL3Z-9928408-AB) and the Box Link cleats (HL3Z99000A64A).

That makes sense. I never used the BoxLink lockable tie down thingys on my last Ford I was just curious if they were left off my new truck or not.

Thanks I looked everywhere in the truck they’re definitely not in the truck.
2023 was a transition year. Some '23s' got the boxlink, and later ones got the newer H-loop tie down point. All 2024's have the H-loop IIRC, as did my early-build '24 truck.
I swapped mine out with the older Boxlink style so I can use E-track accessories.
I did this earlier today. My salesman is off today but is going to call me back tomorrow.
They aren't included in 2024 models.
You'd need tge plates AND the cleats to make it BoxLink.
Amazon has the whole thing for $40.
The plates need removing and replacing.

You aren't missing anything, ATC broke it down for you in the post before yours. Boxlink plates and cleats are no longer included, they have been replaced by the tie down plates that you have. What owners of previous years have is irrelevant to what your 2024 has.
