These newer trucks with all the cameras and sensors need one. I have been carrying my '23 F350 through the local ShineTime. When I try to pull into the the wheel guides, the truck slams on the brakes...multiple times. I have to override it with the throttle. It's really annoying. Once in the car wash, of course all the sensors are going crazy.
Is there a setting that I haven't found that will temporarily disable all the crash detection and braking?
You take your truck's life in your hands running it through an automated wash rack, had nearly $15K damage done to mine by one when it blew a high pressure hose during the wash.
I'm not going to say there is a such thing as a perfect car wash, but ShineTime has been great. There are more expensive cars that go through it than my truck. I probably took my '15 F250 through it 500 times without a single issue...nock on wood!
Unfortunately, my shoulders will not allow me to hand wash it myself anymore. Anyway, not really a discussion about the dangers associated with taking a vehicle through a car wash. We all know they do exist.
I'm like you. Don't have time for hand washing any more. I work construction and truck gets filthy almost daily. Lucky for me there has been a Duck Duck Go car wash near every job for the past 5 years. I go thru the car wash probably twice a week minimum. It's an unlimited monthly pass, So I use it. No damage so far.
And Yes, The front sensors drives crazy, You got some kid up there waving you in, and my truck is slamming on the brakes. I want to yell, Get out of the way and stop waving your arms, you are causing my truck to slam on the brakes.
You can go into your settings and turn off the Front Brake assist and not have the problem.
I saw that setting but wasn't sure if that would actually eliminate the issue. I'll try that next time. Thanks. A simple button on the Features or Settings screen that temporarily disables everything would be awesome...#FordSyncEngineers...
My 19 is great in that regard, but my wife's Lexus is so totally ridiculous with warnings, beeps, chimes, alerts etc. It sounds like a marching band every time I just pull into the garage!! So annoying, WAY more of a distraction than a help.

Get it washed by hand.
Whatever! Have had multiple SuperDuty's through multiple carwashes, never had a single problem.....

I always got o Shell Touchless Car wash and all of the sensors never has problem and no beeping or anything like that sounds. When entering the car wash I go very slow and I put the truck in P so nothing annoying me during car wash.

That's a GREAT idea! Even better if it would allow to set the time: i.e. push a SLEEP button to disable it for 30 minutes (where the 30 minutes can be set in a deeper setting somewhere).
I don't mind the "technology", but a simple way to quickly disable and re-enable would be better than having to dig through a bunch of screens and guessing.
Same carwash, at least once a week, two cars, for over a decade - NEVER an issue. Some folks just have bad karma..........
I'm with you. Subscription for many years, several different vehicles including my Super Duties. I lost a rubber stubby antenna once. Other than that not a single issue ever.
That’s weird that you lost a stubby antenna. I was considering swapping out the 36” or however long it is for a Votex 13”. While I never had a problem with my ‘15 and now my ‘23 OEM antennas, they do get really wound up in the car wash.
