yes, 36" tires would rub a lot with only 4" of lift. Even with 6" you might get a little rubbing, but not to bad. For no rubbing at all, run a 8" lift.

Hope this helps.

With my lift and tire combo I get very slight rubbing. Dont know about 4" and 36" tires. I was told I could run 37" tires with a 5.5" lift.

i think the tire and rim width needed for 36" tires would be the problem. also i'd take the manufactures suggested tire size with a grain of salt.... you might be able to fit their recommended size if you are only doing a blvd cruiser, but not for off road use.

i know all the manufactures say an 8" lift will fit 38" tires with no problems.... but as i had said in another recent post, mine with 11" of lift just BARELY fits the 38" tires in the dirt.

Just because they "fit", doesn't mean they FIT.
These guys are right, it's all about suspension travel.
When you compress the front springs you will most likely tear up some sheet metal.
