lowering rear suspension

Hi i have a 1968 f100 and i would like to lower the rear of the truck. i hear about people taking to leafs out of the leaf spring and also taking out the helper spring. could anyone explain to me which leafs to take out and which one is the helper spring. thanks.

The thickest spring at the bottom of the pack is the helper spring. You can also get drop hangars and lowing shakles for it.

yeah i know but ive heard that if u remove the helper spring u can drop it about 3 inches or so and get a better ride quality. do u know anything more of this. thanks

I've heard that removing the helper spring gets you about 1/2 inch-1 inch drop, and you lose payload capacity. have no personal experiance with teh shackle or hangar, just know they're out there.
