I'm trying to locate a nice set of Ford bed rails for my 8' bed 1997 F350.
The kind I'm looking for are from Ford. You could buy them from Ford for the early 80's trucks thru mid 90's. I'll try to describe them:
1. Each side has a long rail that seems to be aluminum. It sits on three "pedestals" which are mounted in the stake holes in the bed.
2. The inboard side of each rail has a channel that typically has 3 or 4 sliding pieces that you can tie stuff to.
3. The rail sits on the middle pedestal and slides into each end where it is fastened.
4. The pedestals are chrome or aluminum color also.
Please let me know if any of ya'll may have a set of these (in decent shape) that you would consider selling.
They might have something similar to that, you might check it out. You might be hard pressed to find something in good shape, and ford might have sold their tooling to another company to produces the rails.
Hey, i know exactly which rails you are looking for. They are very hard to find, and when you do find them they are never in perfect shape. I recently found some for my truck. Saw them on an old junk ford for a long time, and stopped to see if they'd sell them. Got 'em for 20 bucks, and they are nice. Not impossible to find, just difficult. Good luck.
what about some custom made?
I went to a local metal shop and told the guys that I want some bed rails. They made some out of stainless steel which are mounted with some rivet from inside the bed.
Hello,
I have a set of the bed rails you may be looking for in great shape. Just took them off my 1985 ford F-150. I'm located in Centreville, New Brunswick Canada.
