E4OD shudder, need help

I have a 1996 F250 4x4 with a 460 cid and E4OD. Truck runs flawlessly but when shifting into OD it has a shudder. Do these trannies have a solenoid that modulates the flow to overdrive to ease the shift of is it something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many years ago my father had a '90 Bronco with 5.0/E4OD that also had a similar shudder when going into OD, took it to local Ford dealer and they dropped the pan and tightened(retorqued) the valve body bolts-no more shudder. I knew the man running sales counter and the fellow that did the service work way back then, still good friends today. Hope this helps
